Mount Pinatubo is an active stratovolcano located at the tripoint of Zambales, Tarlac, and Pampanga provinces in Central Luzon, Luzon Island. Its eruptive history was largely unknown until pre-eruption activity in 1991, and it was concealed by dense forests housing an Aeta population.
Airforce City Park
The base served as a stronghold for joint Philippine and American forces in the closing months of World War II and provided logistical support during the Vietnam War until 1975. After the departure of American forces in 1991 due to the eruption of Mount Pinatubo, it was transformed into Clark International Airport, the Clark Freeport Zone, and the Philippine Air Force’s Air Force City.
