Sinulog Festival

This festival is recognized as the largest of its kind in the country, consistently drawing crowds of 1 million to 1.5 million attendees each year. In addition to its religious significance, Sinulog is renowned for its vibrant street festivities, which usually occur the night before and on the main festival day. It has earned the nickname of the “Most Spectacular Festival in the Philippines”.

Basilica De Sto. Nino

This basilica holds the distinction of being the oldest Roman Catholic church in the country and is said to have been constructed at the very site where the image of the Santo Niño de Cebú was discovered during Miguel López de Legazpi’s expedition. It was established in 1565 by Fray Andrés de Urdaneta and Fray Diego de Herrera.

Magellan's Cross

The Magellan’s Cross Pavilion, where the tindalo cross is kept, was constructed in the 1800s. This pavilion is an octagonal kiosk made from coral stone. In 2013, both the pavilion and the tindalo cross endured damage from the Bohol earthquake, leading to cracks. Additionally, the original cross was found to have suffered deterioration caused by termites in 2015. The pavilion underwent renovation and was reopened to the public in March 2016.
