Mount Pinatubo is an active stratovolcano located at the tripoint of Zambales, Tarlac, and Pampanga provinces in Central Luzon, Luzon Island. Its eruptive history was largely unknown until pre-eruption activity in 1991, and it was concealed by dense forests housing an Aeta population.
